Artist and global advocate Arica Hilton partners with Conductor Vladimir Kulenovic, to create an interdisciplinary exhibition of art, poetry and music at Brushwood Center art Ryerson Woods, an environmentally focused art center nestled within a 565 acre nature preserve.
NATURE is the driving force of this riveting exhibition based on the the gravitational pull of the sun and moon on the on earth’s bodies of waters. Exploring the spectrum of color, shape and frequency of sound, Hilton and Kulenovic delve deep into the meaning of the TIDES in a direct and indirect menu of materials, both real and metaphorical. Experience this unique fusion between the art forms alongside the artists themselves. Together, we we will navigate this multi-dimensional journey through live performances of Bach, Beethoven, Debussy and Scriabin, the poetry of Paul Verlaine and Hilton, as a “prelude” that translates into Hilton’s paintings through her love of mathematics and physics, and the exploration of the relation between sound, color and form.
Hilton’s works consist of oil on canvas and acrylic on acrylic canvasses reimagined to address contemporary environmental issues such as climate change, plastic pollution and our oceans and its inhabitants, expressed through art, music and poetry as she embraces the music to create a series of artworks exploring the hidden meanings and implications of TIDES
