A gift to the city
Chicago’s most-walked mile becomes an open-air gallery.
For the summer and fall of 2026, the Magnificent Mile carries something quieter than its usual rush. Ten monumental figures, swimmers caught mid-breath, divers held in perfect balance, bathers at rest, rise between the Wrigley Building and Oak Street Beach.
The exhibition is the vision of Arica Hilton — artist, curator, and founder of Hilton Contemporary — who championed the project and brought it to the Magnificent Mile. Through it she places the celebrated superrealist sculpture of Carole A. Feuerman directly into the path of the city, connecting Chicago’s world-famous architecture with the waterways that edge it and inviting passersby to stop, look up, and contemplate. A companion exhibition of smaller-scale works runs concurrently at Hilton Contemporary’s River North gallery.
